Hepatitis foundation of Tripura (HFT) is in its youth ; most vibrant, most active and most diversified.
The foundation started its journey on 28th July 2002 at Agartala, Tripura, India with consensus from few socially dedicated founders. The foundation gradually could propagate
the concept of “Humanity” and “Clarion call of the society” by most scientific way. The foundation not only activated everybody but continuously evolved by research and analysis.
The activity and social movement got a historic momentum to reach out to every corner of state of Tripura, a small but beautiful state of North East Region (NER) OF India.
Today the foundation has got around 1350 dedicated and motivated life member who dreams for a brighter future in a “out of the box” manner.
At the beginning the foundation ventured on “Hepatitis free Tripura” aim following the method of “AID” (Awareness, Immunization and diagnosis and treatment of Hepatitis B).
The foundation could vaccinate more than 14 lacs people of Tripura (37% of total population) and eventfully and evidently reduced the burden of Hepatitis B in Tripura.
The Tripura Modal of Hepatitis B prevention by vaccination has now got global recognition.
With time the foundation started working on all liver Diseases and established LIVER PATIANT NETWORK (LPN) to serve the need of people with liver dieses (PWLD).
The Foundation has got land mark work on liver disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, scientific publication and extensive community level activities.
The show must go on .The liver disease care, prevention on and containment shall remain the “Prime” area of activity of Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura.
Since 2008 HFT started working on another blood borne viral disease HIV/AIDS. Foundation started with “Community support centre”, a hospital project under NACO for HIV/AIDS patients.
It was continued upto 2013 and now working on VIHAAN project, a care and support centre for HIV/AIDS patients since 2013 to till date.
Health care at community level has always been at the top most priority of foundation and continuously organizing various awareness program on health care, running Liver clinic,
Health clinic, Health camp, School health program, community education program, door to door service, publications of news, articles, leaflet, books and many more.
These programs helped the foundation to be an organization close to the heart of people.
“Human resource development through health care and education“ is the mission of Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura.
Every member of foundation is morally bound to follow it in letter and spirit.
In 2019 the foundation established “HFT Institution of Nursing sciences” (HNS) with the target of making a “state of art” Nursing institute.
HFT Medical Mission is the futuristic project of foundation to conceptualize the dream of establishment of a Missionary care Hospital.
Simultaneously establishment of a centre of excellence in Biomedical Research is a perspective plan of Foundation. Gradually Health care centres will
be established in various parts of Tripura to reach out the people in need.
Govt of India targeted North Eastern Region as special development Zone and accordingly foundation is also interested to extend its activity across total North East Region.
Govt of Tripura is our tower at strength and extending all start of support in the activities of foundation.
HFT works for the Society, by the Society and of the Society with the help of people, friends, members and all well wishers and pledged to be a part of all-round development of the Country, Region and State.
