INTRODUCTION:

Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura is the title of a grand family of Social activists of state of Tripura. It’s a social organization for the society, of the society, by the society.

Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura, well known as HFT, is the largest Networking NGO, having the incomparably highest number of members (around 1350) from different sphere of the society.

Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura is having the highest numbers of active branches (35 branches) throughout the state Tripura spreads in 10, 649 sq kms.

HFT took its debut 0n28th July 2002, initially to work for the prevention, care and treatment of Hepatitis and Liver disease. The primary objective was to make Tripura Hepatitis B free by mass vaccination and today the organization can undoubtedly claim that it has achieved a bigger percentage of its target, as the foundation has vaccinated more than 14 lacs people (37 % of population) of Tripura upto August 2019.HFT is now involved in total care of People with Liver disease ( PWLD).

Care of HIV/ AIDS patients through various care and support projects is also an important area of activity of Foundation since 208.

The organization gradually shifted its area of activity to other health care sector particularly Public Health and got enormous success.

Education is another important area of activity and gradually getting success in this sector also. The foundation established HFT institute of Nursing sciences in 2019 and planning to extend its purview.

HFT has already initiated many futuristic projects to serve the people at large.

The Govt. of Tripura and people in general is extending support to this organization selflessly which is the tower of strength of HFT.

REGULAR ACTIVITITIES OF HFT

A. HEPATITIS B VACCINATION PROGRAM:

Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura has started Hepatitis B vaccination since 2002 and till August 2019 we have vaccinated around 14 lacs people in the state of Tripura which is almost 37 % of total population of Tripura. This has significantly reduced the prevalence of Hepatitis B in Tripura. This is a record for any Social Organization to accomplish such a mammoth mass Hepatitis B vaccination at its own capacity. This is one of the biggest public heath program in tRipura. The TRIPURA MODEL of Hepatitis b vaccinated was appreciated in India and Out Side.

B. MY TRIPURA HEALTHY TRIPURA:

“My Tripura Healthy Tripura” or “Amar Tripura Sustho Tripura” is a mass awareness generating program organised on 1st January of every year since 2014. This program is an awareness program on Liver,Heart, Diabetes and Kidney disease which motivated all the general people of Tripura. Live telecast of this program is done regularly through local news channels which motivated all to improve their health condition. DOCTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD is presented to a young and socially motivated doctor of Tripura every year.

C. WORLD HEPATITIS DAY:

The day is observed throughout the state by all branches of the foundation on 28th July every year by organizing seminars, rally, public health program, and Hepatitis B screening. The state level program is organized at Agartala in the presence of dignitaries.

D. WE SHALL OVERCOME:

The program is organized on auspicious Mahalaya Day every year at Agartala. The inmates of arious orphanages of Agartala participates in the program and performs beautiful cultural activities.

E. LIVER CLINIC:

On every Thursday and Saturday at 3 PM to 5 PM Liver Clinic is organized at HFT House, Indranagar, Agartala where free treatment is provided to all Liver disease and Hepatitis patients. In this clinic scientific treatment of Liver disease patients, counselling of patients and family members and early screening of family member are done by members of HFT. Patients gets benefit the benefit of subsidized investigations and medicines, This clic was started as early as 2008 and people are getting benefit regularly.

F. NON COMMONICABLE DISEASE (NCD) PROGRAM:

HFT gradually extending its area of activity from liver disease to total Non communicable diseases since 2015. Because Non alcoholic Fatty liver disease is closely related to Heart disease, Diabetes, Hypertension , stroke etc. Reducing the burden of NCD and Metabolic syndrome is the need of the hour. HFT organizes regular clinics across the state to provide free treatment, counselling and investigation and advice to prone people to reduce the burden and complication of various non-communicable disease. Foundation also organizes regular NCD Clinic at HFT House on every Sunday.

G. HEALTH DAY OBSERVATION:

HFT observes following Health day across the state through all the branches to develop mass awareness among the people. The participation of the people from various section of society is highly encouraging.. The following important days are being observed regularly;

i)   World Health Day on 7^th April.
ii)  World Hepatitis Day on 28^th July.
iii) World Heart Day on 29^th September.
iv) World Diabetes Day on 14^th Novenber.
v)  World AIDS Day on 01^th December.

H. HEALTH CAMP & COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAM:

Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura organizes Community based program round year at different parts of state in the form of Health Camp ( free health care and free diagnostic testing (like as: ECG, USG, Blood sugar, Eye check up etc.) awareness and educational programs, various competitions and rally etc.

Udaipur branch of HFT organizes regular Health Clinic at HFT office, Super market, Udaipur. Gomati Tripura.

J. ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE:

HFTCON is organized every year in the month of August.
